PayPal Shipping Tool (MultiOrder Shipping) – Skip the Post Office Trip and Print Internet Postage at Home for Free

Stamps.com provides a great service. From what I have heard, Endicia.com does also. For a monthly account fee (on top of shipping costs), both services allow you to mail envelopes and packages with the United States Postal Service, without ever leaving your home. If you inundate your friends and family with gifts and care packages or sell items on eBay or Amazon, shipping from home is a must. For everyone else, shipping at home is still an appealing option if the price is right.

In fact, I had a sweet deal with Stamps.com for years. As an early adopter and longtime customer, I commanded an unadvertised simple plan rate of $4.99 a month. The standard rate is currently $15.99 a month. I was avoiding standing in line at the Post Office and saving $11 every month. That's almost enough for a Double-Double at In-N-Out Burger every week. Delicious. Except, by using PayPal MultiOrder Shipping, I could have been having fresh-cut french fries with my Double-Double. Delectable.

I knew PayPal had auction tools to simplify shipping for eBay sellers, but I did not realize I could use those tools outside of the eBay transaction process. You need a PayPal account with a source of funds (an existing PayPal account balance, a transfer from your bank account, or a charge to your debit or credit card). That is the only requirement that I can find. There is no monthly fee or surcharge. Just click on the PayPal MultiOrder Shipping tool and use the Create New Orders feature to manually enter the delivery address and select the shipping services you need. Pay what you would pay at the Post Office without all the hassle. There are no hidden fees.

To be fair, the USPS does have Click-N-Ship, which is free. However, the service options are limited. You cannot ship by Parcel Post or Media Mail with Click-N-Ship.

So, I am telling you what I wish I had been told: try PayPal MultiOrder Shipping. Save time. Save money. Save your sanity and avoid going postal.
